Low carbon ferrochrome is a kind of ferrochrome which is made of silicon chromium alloy, chromite and lime as raw materials, and is refined and desilicated by electric furnace of 1500 ~ 6000 KV A, and is produced by high alkalinity slag operation. The traditional production method is still electrosilicate thermal method. Under the condition of making basic slag in electric furnace, the low carbon ferrochrome is produced by reducing the oxides of chromium and iron with the silicon in the silicon chromium alloy.
