1. Product Profile:
Hafnium Powder is easy to act with air and spontaneous combustion. Dense massive hafnium is extremely stable at room temperature due to the existence of surface oxide film. Hafnium can absorb a large amount of oxygen, hydrogen, nitrogen and other gases when heated. It is an ideal getter. Hafnium has better corrosion resistance than titanium, close to tantalum and niobium. Hafnium and zirconium are two metals with very similar chemical properties. Hafnium has large thermal neutron capture cross section and outstanding nuclear properties. It is an indispensable material for the development of atomic energy industry.
Making reactor control rods is the main use of hafnium. Hafnium Powder can be used as rocket propellant with small volume and high energy. Hafnium has the properties of fast heat absorption and heat release. It can be used as structural materials for jet engines and missiles, as well as turbine engine blades, ramjet valves, nozzles and other high-temperature parts.
2. Product details:
Hafnium powder, in silver gray powder, density 13.31g/cm3, melting point 2227℃. The chemical properties are very similar to that of zirconium, and it has good corrosion resistance and is not easily corroded by general acid-base aqueous solutions; it is easily soluble in hydrofluoric acid to form fluorine complexes. At high temperatures, hafnium can also directly combine with gases such as oxygen and nitrogen to form oxides and nitrides.

4. Product applications:
It is commonly used in the cathode of X-ray and tungsten wire manufacturing industry. Pure hafnium is an important material in atomic energy industry because its plasticity, easy to process and resistant to high temperature and corrosion. Hafnium is an ideal neutron absorber because of its large thermal neutron capture cross section, and it can also be used as the control rod and protection device of atomic reactor. Hafnium powder can be used as a rocket propeller.
